October 2009 — Silent film firstly outside the RNLI headquarters of
the time. The lifeboatman statue seen on the front is still standing
but now on the headquarters in Poole of the then Prince of Wales
visiting Fishguard lifeboat crew and awarding a Gold Medal to
Coxswain John Howells, Silver Medals to Thomas O Davies, Robert E
Simpson and Thomas Holmes, and Bronze Medals to the other nine crew
for rescuing seven people from the wrecked Dutch motor schooner
Hermina. |
